# Connect Cloudflare


### Sign up the [Cloudflare](https://cloudflare.com/).

# 1. Hit **Add a domain**

# 2. Enter your domain ${color}[#a1a1a1](e.g. mywebsite.com) and click Continue

# 3. Choose the free plan and click **Continue**.

Follow the steps they ask you to do to set up the domain

# 4. Review your DNS records.

Cloudflare will automatically scan your domain's DNS records.

# 5. Complete your nameserver setup

At this step, you should go to your domain registrar account. 
The process for this varies depending on who your domain registrar is.

Find **Nameservers** in the dashboard.  Then select the **Custom DNS** option.

Copy the suggested Cloudflare nameservers and paste them into the appropriate fields in the account register dashboard, as shown here:

|| Please make sure that the changes with your domain provider are saved, and then click "Continue" in Cloudflare.

Once you've changed the nameservers with your domain registrar, click on "Done, check nameservers". It might take up to 24-48 hours for the changes to take effect, due to DNS propagation times. You will receive an email when your site is active on Cloudflare.

# 6. Please wait until the status changes to "Active"—and you're all set!
